Wright Medical Hires V.P. to Lead its U.S. Extremities Business

Latest hire most recently worked for Covidien.

Wright Medical Group Inc. has named Kevin D. Cordell president, U.S. Extremities, effective Sept. 29, Cordell will be responsible for Wright’s U.S. extremities and biologic business, reporting directly to the chief operating officer, and be located at Wright’s corporate headquarters in Memphis, Tenn.

“For over 20 years, Kevin has led the development, implementation and execution of successful commercial strategies and programs for global medical device, biotech and pharmaceutical companies,” said Pascal Girin, Wright’s executive vice president and chief operating officer. “His proven track record of success and his passion for building high performing commercial organizations will serve us well as we continue to focus on accelerating revenue growth, driving sales rep productivity gains in our U.S. foot and ankle business, and launching new products, in particular our new Infinity ankle.”

Prior to joining Wright, Cordell served as vice president of sales for the GI Solutions business at Covidien plc from May 2012 to September 2014. While at Covidien, he also served as vice president of sales and global marketing for its peripheral vascular business from July 2010 to May 2012. He joined Covidien in July 2010 through the acquisition of Ev3 Inc., where he served as vice president of U.S. sales from January 2009 to July 2010. Prior to Ev3, Cordell served as vice president of global sales for FoxHollow Technologies Inc. from March 2007 to October 2007. Earlier in his career, Cordell also held various positions of increasing responsibility for Johnson & Johnson’s Cordis Cardiology and Centocor companies.



He received his bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Oklahoma.
